When Spring Walked out the Door

It’s been a little hectic around here lately. So I thought i’d just do a little update and and share a few words!

Still Smiling

Spring has disappeared as quickly as it arrived!

Today has been so stormy and  tonight there’s a storm warning!  It got me to thinking that sometimes life is like that too. One day everything is going fine-the sun is shining and everything is beautiful then the next thing something unexpected happens that takes the wind out of your sails. Well this year has been one of those years for me and mine! It started in April when we set off for a long awaited holiday to Malaysia.

Here we are awaiting our departure

We’ve lived life pretty much in the fast lane and so were really looking forward to this getaway and especially spending ‘quality’ time with our little ones. (remember our 3 big ones have already flown the coup)

For the Kids, it was their first overseas adventure apart from a trip to New Zealand to see family, so as you can imagine they we’re ready for the adventure.

Early Morning Arrival – Unaware of what lies ahead

Our first few days in Singapore we chose to hang out in the back streets, enjoying local food and taking in all the sights and sounds.

We caught the trains with the locals, got lost  and even chose to stay with locals in a home stay apartment. At one stage there were 10 other people from all over asia bunking down in the little 3 bedroom high rise. An experience to say the least!

Fortunately there was an awesome pool in the complex so we could escape the heat and close confines of living in community!

The first night in Malaysia enjoying local market food and totally unaware that life was about to throw us a curve ball.

SO IT WAS THAT THE ADVENTURE WAS ABOUT TO BEGIN AND LIFE AS WE KNEW IT WAS ABOUT TO CHANGE,

JUST AS QUICKLY AS THE SPRING HAS COME AND SEEMS TO HAVE GONE , SO OUR HOLIDAY EXCITEMENT WOULD FADE AND THE CLOUDS THAT GATHERED ABOVE US WOULD SEND US HURTLING BACK INTO A WINTER SEASON.

Check in later for the unfolding journey….
